Stumptown Printers in Portland, Oregon are almost finished with our limited edition DVD cover for An Island, a film by Vincent Moon & Efterklang. Here’s a preview of the cover in the making. We designed a special custom handmade package made with recycled paper. The outer cover is printed on Stumptown Printers’ beautiful old letterpress machines and the package includes a set of litho printed postcards and a booklet full of photos. You can also follow the process and see some nice video clips of the making on Stumptown’s Flickr page. The photos in the booklet are taken by Antje Taiga Jandrig.
If you would like to order this DVD version of An Island, then please visit www.anisland.cc/home. It should be available within a couple of weeks! It comes with an instant download of the film and an exclusive bonus Efterklang live EP.

We are very happy to announce that 8 of our posters now can be found in Design Museum Denmark’s Poster Archive! The posters in this archive range from commercial and political posters to posters for exhibitions, film and theatre and lots more. Most of them are Danish, but even famous international artists like Toulouse Lautrec and Picasso can be found here.
Just returned from Beijing after 10 days of working on an installation for NOTCH festival 2011. NOTCH festival is an annual event in China showcasing Nordic and Chinese artists and designers, and this year we collaborated with a local Chinese designer called Been, who we met last time we were in Beijing. We got along so well, and now we just want her to move to Denmark!

This year’s theme for the festival was Feedback, and all the artists used recycled materials found in the hutong area where the factory and exhibition space is situated.

Our work consisted of 4 large weaving frames hanging from the ceiling. In between the cotton strings we wove pieces of colourful paper from used cigarette boxes.

If you happen to be in Beijing, you can go and see the whole exhibition at 8 Dawailangying Hutong, Dashilan, until October 9th. Other participating Nordic artists were Jacob Sikker Remin from Denmark, Tuomas Laitinen from Finland, Gudrun Kristjansdottir from Iceland and Baltos Kandys from Lithuania.

Just received a couple of cd’s of Clogs member Rachael Elliott’s solo project! We made the cover a few months ago and the album is really fantastic. Read more about the Bassoon project here.

We are very soon heading off to China. We’ll be doing a project with Notch festival, which we are really looking forward to. We’ll be working on an installation on an old factory building, close to Tiananmen Square in Beijing, in collaboration with our friend Been, who we also met last time we were there.
If you want to order something from our webshop while we’re away, you’ll have to be patient and wait until we get back, late September. Thanks!

Here are some more photos and a video of the completed stage design we did for Trailerpark Festival last month, in collaboration with Dark Matters and Yoke. It was an interactive installation, where the audience via the box in front could interact with the projections which were mapped to fit the three-dimensional set.

Another treat is that if you buy the shirts, you can get at chance to win custom made bikes with the prints! Read more about the whole thing here at Asos site.
