Today we received a package from Japan! It was a handful of copies of the album Parallel/serial by Japanese post-rock band number0, that we have designed the artwork for. The album was released this April, and we’ve been very exited to see how the colours turned out – we are very happy with the result.

The artwork is made of spraypainted glas layered with little pieces of patchwork fabric in between. We’ll post some process photos of how it was made very soon! We also designed the sleeve for the EP Returning.

New Turboweekend single!

After a long wait, Turboweekend is finally back with new music. First single On My Side will be released this Wednesday in a special live stream directly from the band’s website at 8 pm!

Again we have made the artwork, for this single as well as for the album that will be released this summer. We used dynamic paint brush strokes and a beautiful photo from the famous magical mountain landscape in California called Artist’s Palette. The photo is taken by Hans Kruse, our favorite landscape photographer and Sofie’s father.

New Robot in our Webshop

We were invited to design a robot for this special package containing 15 different robot templates, 12 of which are illustrated by various artists, including artists like David Shrigley and Geneviéve Gauckler, plus 3 blank ones that you can decorate yourself. This means endless fun! And you can get one in our webshop, take a look here.

Create your own set of robots to play with and line up in a colourful display, or to send to friends using the specially designed envelopes included in the box. The robot parts are interchangeable so you can take them apart and rebuild them.

The Robot is published by Laurence King Publishing in collaboration with Magma Books. And the other artists are: eBoy, Bubi au Yeung, Geneviéve Gauckler, Airside, David Shrigley, Roman Klonek, Jon Burgerman, Donna Wilson, Ben Newman, Malota & Shin Tanaka.

C/O illustration exhibition in Malmø

We are happy to be featured at the c/o illustration exhibition in Malmø, with a lot of talented Swedish illustrators, among others our friend Dan Berglund. We will be showing the 9 min animation film that we made for Nobis Hotel in November.

Marimekko + Hvass&Hannibal

We just got back from Helsinki where we attended the Marimekko fashion show for the A/W 2012 collection for which we did a print that opened the show!

We LOVE Marimekko, so we are really happy that we got invited to design this print for them. It was so nice to meet all the cool women involved in designing the collection, led by Noora Niinikoski. They were all wearing beautiful colorful dresses, just as you would imagine.

Our print is called Kaiaka, which means ‘Shadowed Sea’ in Hawaiian. There is a shirt, a skirt and a dress – we will be posting more photos soon, but for now here are a couple of pictures we took after the show.

Det Ser Sort Ud – Men Det Er Det Ikke!

Here’s another book cover. It’s for a heartwarming project called Ordskælv initiated by Hyggefactory’s Karen Siercke, our friend and studio mate. The book is a collection of essays written by 13-21 year-olds who have all experienced the loss of a parent. Through workshops every week since September 2011 the young writers have received guidance from professional authors and journalists, and the result is a handful of beautiful and touching stories. The essays are all illustrated by established artists, including names like Michael Kvium, Bjørn Nørgaard, Jakob Tolstrup, Anne Werner and HuskMitNavn.

Lectures at the School of Design

We just did two lectures at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts’ School of Design today. Thank you to Morten Noer and Annemette Lichtenberg for having us! One of the talks was for a seminar about the Culture Night poster competition. We got to meet Finn Nygaard and Niklaus Troxler, who also lectured, and both had such an inspiring and huge body of work.

Finn Nygaard did colour setting and identity for a Danish Airline company – how amazing is that!!

And Niklaus Troxler showed us many beautiful music posters
