We just received the An Island DVD covers from Stumptown Printers, who did a fantastic job! It was really exiting to open the first one and we couldn’t be more happy with it. We’ve updated our website with a new post so you can read more there. Or visit the An Island website, where you can also purchase your own copy. Lots of love went into this project – from the making of the film to all the home screenings, from Antjes photos to the carefully handmade cover, and we hope this will come through in the package.

Stumptown Printers in Portland, Oregon are almost finished with our limited edition DVD cover for An Island, a film by Vincent Moon & Efterklang. Here’s a preview of the cover in the making. We designed a special custom handmade package made with recycled paper. The outer cover is printed on Stumptown Printers’ beautiful old letterpress machines and the package includes a set of litho printed postcards and a booklet full of photos. You can also follow the process and see some nice video clips of the making on Stumptown’s Flickr page. The photos in the booklet are taken by Antje Taiga Jandrig.
If you would like to order this DVD version of An Island, then please visit www.anisland.cc/home. It should be available within a couple of weeks! It comes with an instant download of the film and an exclusive bonus Efterklang live EP.

Friday night we hosted a private-public screening of Efterklang & Vincent Moon’s film An Island at our studio. It was a lot of fun, and a very lovely experience to watch the movie with old friends and new friends. Thank you for coming by everyone! If this inspires you to host a screening of the film, we can definitely recommend it! Click here to find out more. There are now over 500 private-public screenings all over the world – except in Africa. Come on Africa!
Groove Magazine in Germany, writes that Efterklang’s Magic Chairs cover is one of the ten best covers of 2010. Thank you Groove Magazine!

Efterklang and the French director Vincent Moon have created a beautiful film called “An Island” which will premiere in February.
We did the titles and design for the film. Check out Anders Ladegaard’s website here, and see how you can get involved in the project by hosting your own Private-Public Screening, or simply by spreading the word. We will be hosting a screening ourselves, here at our studio in Skt. Peders Stræde on February 4th at 8pm, so if you want to come and join us, please go to An Island website and attend a screening, or arrange to host one yourself!

In November Turboweekend released an EP with 5 great songs, that you can get your hands on, free of charge! Casper Clausen from Efterklang as well as Ty Bulmer from New Young Pony Club are featured on some of the songs, that you can download here. We did the design of the cover aswell as the website, with photos from photographer Emil Rønn Andersen, and hand writing by the ever amazing Jody Barton.

Decorating Efterklang’s new studio in Berlin. Thank you Antje, Sara, Stine and Anke… (And some of the Efterklang guys, at least for trying!)

We just returned from an amazing Roskilde Festival! It has been 4 days of fantastic music, friends, fun times, sunshine, camping and dancing. Both Efterklang and Turboweekend played at the festival, both were brilliant as usual, and the audience loved them. We also got to spend some time with the National, who played an amazing show too – and it was very nice to meet Bryce and Padma again, who are also members of the band Clogs, that we have recently created artwork for.
It’s July, the sun is shining, and our basement studio is far too dark to spend time in right now. So we have decided to take the month off, which means we will be away until the beginning of August. This also means that there probably won’t be much activity on the blog until we are back.
Have a great summer!
